Heaven Sent Fried Chicken in Renton

Terrific chicken and sides. Neighborhood seems sketchy but it was quiet. Plenty of parking. Small dining area with no ambience to speak of, clean.

Great chicken, such friendly service. I loved the mash and gravy. I bought Mac and cheese, just haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it's amazing.

I guess I just like Popeyes spicy Chicken better. But I think Heaven sent has larger pieces. I would go there again.

Spicy Fried chicken wasn’t spicy enough but was still good. Customer service was bad. The lady was rude and unhelpful. Not coming again unless they improve on this

As always, the chicken is amazing! The only feedback I would give is for the staff to be a little more friendly on the front end. Sometimes a smile will get you a long way!

For price... It is a joke. Don't bother. I just read all the bad reviews and agree to them completely. The service was rude. The chicken fried to hardness. Small pieces of chicken. Again, very rude. I wonder when the last time Opra was there. Ha!

Food is good. Customer service needs improving. Ordered at the front and apparently our order got lost. Ended up waiting 45 mins when it should have taken 15. Also got treated rudely when asking about our order. Prolly will not come back until they have better front of house service.

Oh man this place is good. I had been going to his (you know who) other chicken place for years and while that has fallen in his absence, Heaven Sent has brought that fried chicken I have loved for years! Always go spicy. You won't regret it.

Absolutely loved it. Got to meet the original Ezell. Food and customer service was way better than the competition. I'll definitely be going back.

This is true Ezells chicken. Made by Ezell himself I think since he came out and gave us the food. The chicken is fantastic and it's worth the 30 minute drive. Only complaint is that the side dishes aren't as good. The gravy is homemade which is great but the texture isn't very good and the loose corn tastes like it had been sitting in a can for a year.If it wasn't for the side dishes it would be a 5 star review. This isn't a place you would typically sit and eat it is meant more for take out. Their space is quite small but that is 100% fine with me. Still nice and warm even after a decent drive home.

This chicken is awesome! Unfortunately though, it's a bit on the pricey side and the side dishes don't really match up to what you may think they would in size, a large feeds two people.I bought their 8 piece family meal w/ no sides (as instructed by the order taker to make it cheaper) and ordered a large mashed potato and large Mac and Cheese with 2 waters and a pop. Total was (rounded off) $46.00. There was enough chicken to go around for my family of 3, but not enough of the Mac and Cheese or the potatoes. Good food yes, but overly priced.

I love this place. Hands down the best chicken in town. But this one cashier is unbelievably rude. Has no care in the world for your feedback or your complaints. Her customer service sucks all around. Other than that I love this place

I suddenly had a craving for fried chicken today for lunch, and "Heaven Sent Fried Chicken" in downtown Renton sounded like it fit the bill. After waiting a bit in line I ordered and gladly dove into my crispy original breast. The outside was overcooked but even more unappealing was the rubbery chicken inside. Yikes! Unfortunately, I noticed the original batter didn't have much flavor, as in salt or savory spices. The potato salad was unique, with a mayo base, vinegar & dill? The roll was soft & sweet. Even though I don't like giving negative reviews, I felt it was best to give an honest review. And although I've had better fried chicken, God IS still good, all the time God is good 😉

Best fried chicken in the area. Go for the spicy. It's not hot but flavorful!

Wonderful place for fried chicken. Great food quality, clean restaurant, but four stars due to very poor service. This may have been a one time thing or I would give them two stars. I put in my order four hours in advance. When I came back they said they had not yet cooked the okra I ordered and it would be 5min. 20 minutes later I got my food for my meeting I was taking it to. Wait staff and the owner we're snotty to me and not hospitable at all.To the owner, you not only look bad to me but 20 of my friends. You have not YET lost a customer, but I am NOT happy at all. You almost lost 20 customers for delaying our meeting 20 min due to poor planning on your part. The service better improve or I will not come back a third time. Ezels friend chicken food quality is not as good or consistent as heaven sent, but at least they have consistent quality customer service.

Place produces good food, bit it's pricey. Chicken strips are great and fried chicken tasty. There is little flexibility in the menu. For example they have regular and specialty sides. Mac and cheese is a specialty side. I wanted a combo that came with 2 sides and I wanted Mac and cheese. Because it was a specialty side, I couldn't get it. They also wouldn't let me pay the difference. I had to order it separately. Also they charge 35 cents for refills while you are there. They really nickel and dime you here.

Customer service sucks, really bad! You need a new front lady. Sorry guys, I love heaven sent but I will never come to this one again. Ezel needs to get his game back.

The lady in the front was extremely rude and seemed distracted. It took me longer than normal to complete my order. At least the chicken was good, but she needs to change or they need to get someone else in the front

Some of my co-workers recommended this place and said it was amazing. I didn't really care for it too much. I just tried the original chicken and I believe that Church's Chicken is a lot better. I haven't tried their spicy chicken so I cannot comment on that.

This is the REAL Ezell's!! Heaven Sent is the current business of Mr. Ezell Stephens - the real fried chicken genius behind the original Ezell's AND Heaven Sent. Anyone who doesn't know that isn't from here...or doesn't care about fried chicken!Excellent gizzards and livers, catfish. Decent sides. Great rolls and desserts - we appreciate the 7up cake!There's only enough space in this branch for about 15 people, but most folks are getting it to go anyway! Be forewarned: they check your ID if you use a credit or debit card here. They will turn you away without it.

My favorite is the spicy chicken strips and honey mustard. I've had beans, coleslaw, and mac and cheese and they are all delicious. Rolls are always soft and warm. It's worth the trip.

Food is usually pretty fresh. Owner greets you with a welcoming attitude every time.

This place reminds me of restaurants that Dad would take us to as kids. I tend to go on the weekends, after a long day of working around the house. One day I will remember to call ahead! It's ALWAYS crazy busy whenever my husband and I go. I've always had a consistent product and I love their original recipe batter--I'm a bit of a spice wimp. If you like things hotter, get the spicy type. The other thing I love about this place, aside from that fact that it's actually Ezell's, is that he really hires high schoolers to work there. Sometimes that causes a bit of disorganization, but not enough to lose more than one star!

Excellent fried chicken. Anytime we are visiting the area, Heaven Sent Fried Chicken is the absolute BEST! Spicy is my favorite, but it's ALL good. Don't forget the rolls, they are to die for.

Food was great, but take it to go. This rating would be worse, but the food makes up for so much. Service is rough (at best) and the restaurant itself is... Sketchy. Also, expect to wait approximately 20 minutes for your food. Again, the food is great (as in, awesome), but everything else... Just get it to go and don't ask questions.

Chicken is great. Very consistent food quality. However I’ve never seen so much as a smile from the counter person. It’s like you’re troubling them with your order. I finding myself at the new Ezell’s by the high school more often now, as it’s cleaner, less expensive and they seem to value my business.

Pleasant atmosphere during a short wait. Service was nice. Could have used some music. Chicken flavorful and not too greasy. Good sized meaty pieces with a good crisp to meat ratio. Blessed little Chicken place.

Went here for the first time for a late lunch and it was pretty good fried chicken and livers and rolls. The atmosphere was nice. Was really glad that it has so much parking along the side of the building. The best part is that the food comes out pretty fast and that the food comes out really hot. Definitely a bigger fan of the spicy chicken than I am of the regular and non-spicy chicken. I'd probably come back again for the spicy chicken.

Has easily become our favorite fried chicken spot. We live up in Seattle walking distance from an Ezells, and is always rather drive here. Always fresh, moist, and crunchy. Everything you want in good fried chicken. You'll find it here.

Just ate heaven sent for the first time and it was great. The potato salad was rich and creamy and the baked beans were brown sugary greatness. I got the spicy strips and my mouth was on fire! A spice lover will be in heaven. The prices are comparable to all the other chicken spots locally, so good prices. I would recommend calling in your order as we waited quite awhile. However, that homemade potato salad and baked beans made it worth the wait. The restaurant was clean and Ezell was there cooking just like back in the day when I was a kid visiting his old joint in the CD, Seattle.

Service was ok. Rolls were good if you like sweet rolls. Chicken was over cooked and the batter was bland and had no soul to it. Mashed potatoes were a little too smooth, like instant spuds that were made with too much water. Gravy was ok at best. Fries had nothing to recommend then either. I don't even think we ate more than 2 or 3 fries each. Overall, it'll fill your belly, but not your appetite. I've had better from Safeway. Not worth what they charge.

I Love Heaven Sent!!Great food, great service and great prices. We've ordered food for 13 people, as individual orders. And they've never messed up or complained. LolThe food is So So delicious, send the Jalapeno's are So Perfect. You Must eat here Often if you can!!👍☺️

My husband and I ordered the same food and even though I could care less about soda. However, I was told my food came with a small soda and I could pay for refills. My husband was handed a large soda. We are a mixed race married couple. We did not expect prejudices. Food was terrible. Never going back.

Juicy chicken and cooked to perfection. Loved it. No other crunch like it in Town. Must visit.

The food is really good, but its seems like the owner cares only about his image and money. For one Customer Service is bad, you dont get a smile & the prices have gone up so much its seriously unbelievable. Sadly wont go back, even as good as the food is.

This chicken joint is aptly named, it is heaven sent! Crispy, juicy, fattening, guilty pleasure with multiple side orders to choose from. Only 2 tables that seat 4 and 2 tables that seat 2 so you are better off getting it to go. Friendly staff and clean restrooms. I will say that if you are near any of the 3 locations, don't miss the opportunity to have the best friend chicken that you have ever had! Oh, yes, they have friend livers and gizzards too! Perfection!

This is some of the best friend chicken around! The sides are just that, they won't bring you back. The chicken will. I can see why Oprah likes it. Dinner was ready in under 5 minutes. Always friendly staff.

Very good; not incredible. Maybe I've been spoiled with incredible homemade fried chicken. Service is however excellent.

I give this place a 2.5... although the tenders I ordered came out fresh it had no flavor, the fries were good but they were bag fries you can get at Walmart(unsalted) and mashed potatoes too salty, when I was ordering she came off as rude but I think it was just a slow long day for her, maybe something happened that set her off before I walked in because when she gave me my order she seemed a little nicer. When I paid I was asked for my Identification which is not required at all. But I guess security purposes!! I simply complied and did as she said no questions asked. That is the only thing I ate today and now I’m having chills and stomach pain with irregular bowel movements that I shall not name, vomit and a fever.

Chicken was good, but the spicy okra and bread were the bomb!!!

The lady that helped me wasnt friendly, the chicken tasted dry and the grease was old, I heard the food was good by coworkers but, my opinion it wasnt that good.

Best fried chicken around Seattle! The owner is the original owner of a different fried chicken place that Oprah loved- that place doesn't compare since the owner left. Of you miss having good old fashioned fried chicken the way it's supposed to be made, grab some spicy chicken from Heaven sent...One complaint, their cornbread muffins are good, but not as big of a portion as I would have expected...

I know the owner Ezell Stephens. I have longed to taste his original recipe for southern fried chicken done right because I was the designer of the first Ezell's store in Seattle back in 1985-86The chicken is excellent and the menu is indicative of his southern black culture. You'll find no better cultural-cusine in the region. The prices are affordable for most everyone. That's "Inclusion (cp)" according to my scientific research findings, soon to be published. I ordered the Large Original Chicken Strips and they were amazing, great Customer Service as well!I highly recommend thi place if you love chicken, etc.

Terrible service with rude workers, I'm done giving this place a chance. You can't substitute anything which makes it difficult to get what you really want. And of course when I get home I discover they did not include my side and no receipt. So I get an empty box with 2 small pieces of chicken in it and a roll. No side. And no way to possibly get my side without wasting my time driving to get it with NO receipt. Pass!

Heaven Sent Fried chicken gets a 5 star rating from me for their 3 piece, dark and spicy combo. I had the cole slaw, beans and orange soda. Super delicious.
